Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, unveiled a "master plan" for the development of Gaza, Sky News reports.
"There's a master plan. We'll be doing it in phases in the Middle East. They build cities like this in, you know, two, three million people. They built this in three years. And so stuff like this is very doable if we make it happen," the statement said.
Kushner added that he sees "a lot of people trying to escalate" the situation and called on them to calm down for 30 days.
"I think that the war is over, let's do our best to try working together, our goal here is peace between Israel and the Palestinian people. Everyone wants to live peacefully, everyone wants to live with dignity, let's put our efforts towards promoting those who are doing the work to build this up," he said.
Trump's Peace Board
Today, January 22, Donald Trump presented his initiative — the Peace Board — during the World Economic Forum in Davos. Later, the countries that joined the Board became known.
According to Trump's concept, the body is to begin its work by resolving the situation in the Gaza Strip and later take control of the conflict in Ukraine and other global crises.
At the same time, the initiative received a restrained reaction from leading countries of the world. Under the announced conditions, the permanent members of the UN Security Council are required to contribute $1 billion each.
Among those invited was Russian President Vladimir Putin, who was also confirmed by the Kremlin. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said the proposal was received through diplomatic channels and that Russia plans to clarify the details of the initiative.
