US to continue peace efforts despite tensions with Zelenskyy – Bloomberg

The administration of US President Donald Trump will not give up trying to end the war in Ukraine. But after the quarrel between the leaders, the White House is likely to avoid direct contact with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Bloomberg reports.
According to the agency, an adviser to the Trump administration said that too much had been invested in trying to reach an agreement to end the war to abandon it now. According to the source, instead, the United States is likely to sharply increase pressure on Ukraine and avoid direct contact with Zelenskyy.
Analysts suggest that the dispute between Presidents Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Trump “may lead to consequences.” This could be an audit of US aid provided to Ukraine so far or similar actions, although this does not necessarily rule out any negotiations.
However, Trump's team also has more radical views. Another Bloomberg source close to the Trump administration said that Joe Biden's presidency had allegedly “spoiled him into expecting ” that the American people would continue to fund the war.
The newspaper adds that Europe will collectively try to “pick up the pieces” after the Oval Office dispute. One European official told Bloomberg that “Trump has made up his mind to sell out Ukraine.” Several other European officials called the Oval Office debacle an ambush.
Clash between Zelenskyy and Trump
On February 28, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Washington, DC. He met with President Donald Trump at the White House.
During the conversation between Zelenskyy, Trump, and US Vice President JD Vance, a verbal altercation occurred over the war and Ukraine's alleged “ingratitude.”
After the quarrel, Trump met with advisers in the Oval Office. Later, Volodymyr Zelenskyy left the White House early. The agreement between Ukraine and the United States on minerals was not signed either.
After the quarrel between the presidents, Western media began to report that the United States might cut off aid to Ukraine. According to the NYT, Trump is allegedly considering cutting off direct and indirect support.
