US to announce new $250 mln military aid package for Ukraine today
US President Joe Biden will announce today, September 6, a new military aid package for Ukraine. The aid includes weapons worth 250 million dollars, states Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin at a Ramstein meeting.
"I am pleased to say that President Biden will announce today an additional $250 million security assistance package for Ukraine. It will surge more capabilities to meet Ukraine's evolving requirements and will deliver them at the speed of war," Austin said.
Ramstein-24 in Germany
The 24th meeting of the Ramstein Ukraine Defense Contact Group is taking place today. One notable aspect of this meeting is the participation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who has already delivered a speech.
It is noted that today the allies will focus their attention particularly on strengthening Ukraine's air defense capabilities.
After the Ramstein meeting concludes, partners will announce new military aid packages for Ukraine, including from the United States of America.

US assistance to Ukraine
The United States is the undisputed leader in assisting Ukraine's Defense Forces among its allies. The last military aid package was announced by US President Joe Biden on August 23, ahead of Ukraine's Independence Day.
It included air defense missiles to protect Ukraine's critical infrastructure, equipment to combat drones, anti-tank missiles, as well as ammunition and mobile missile systems.
