US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has instructed employees to report any instances of "anti-Christian bias" by their colleagues. The reports must include names and detailed information. The directive has left many officials shocked and confused, reports Politico.

According to an order issued by US President Donald Trump, a task force is expected to meet around April 22 to discuss its initial findings. The document encourages State Department employees to report on one another using an anonymous submission form.

"Reports should be as detailed as possible, including names, dates, and locations (e.g., post or domestic office where the incident occurred)," the cable reads.

The document was sent to embassies worldwide on behalf of Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The instructions were also published in a message distributed to the entire department.

State Department officials reacted to the initiative with shock and concern. They said that even if it was issued with good intentions, it is based on the false assumption that the department harbors anti-Christian bias. Officials warned that the move could create a culture of fear.

The order, signed by Trump in February, requires all federal agencies to eliminate "anti-Christian bias" within the government.

Trump’s controversial initiatives

In March, speaking before Congress, Trump cited among his achievements the official recognition of only two genders — male and female. The statement triggered widespread protests.

In addition, as part of his re-election campaign, Trump pledged to deport approximately 2–3 million undocumented migrants with criminal records. He also said he plans to temporarily ban Muslims from entering the United States to prevent potential members of terrorist organizations from entering the country to carry out attacks.
