Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy "needs to come to his senses and come back to the table in gratitude." Otherwise, "someone else needs to lead the country," informs NBC News, citing US House of Representatives Mike Johnson.

"President Trump is trying to get these two parties (Ukraine and Russia -ed.) to a point of peace. What President Zelenskyy did in the White House effectively signaled to us that he was not ready for that yet, and I think that’s a great disappointment," Johnson said.

The Speaker emphasized that Trump clearly conveyed that "if Zelenskyy is ready for peace," the US would be willing to continue negotiations.

Johnson stressed that for Ukraine to continue implementing the peace agreement brokered by the US, Zelenskyy "needs to come to his senses and come back to the table in gratitude, or someone else needs to lead the country."

Zelenskyy, Trump, and Vance dispute

As a reminder, on Friday, February 28, Zelenskyy visited the US.

However, during a press conference at the White House, a dispute arose between Zelenskyy, US President Donald Trump, and Vice President JD Vance.

The sides discussed the war between Russia and Ukraine security guarantees, which led to the premature end of the meeting between the leaders. The deal on mineral resources was also not signed.

It is also worth noting that earlier today, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio accused Zelenskyy of undermining efforts regarding peace negotiations.

Additionally, we reported that Trump's administration responded to the question of whether they wanted a change in the president of Ukraine.
