US Senator Blumenthal champions resumption of military aid to Ukraine

The US can and must restore military aid to Ukraine as soon as possible, as well as strengthen sanctions against Russia, states American Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal.
The politician emphasized that the results of the US elections have helped bring the issue of Ukraine and its defense back into the spotlight.
According to Blumenthal, he plans to seize this moment and introduce a special bill to the US Congress. If his initiative succeeds, Ukraine could receive military aid from the US again, which President Donald Trump blocked.
Furthermore, the senator, along with other Democrats, aims to pressure the White House head to impose "hellish sanctions" against Russia and reinstate restrictions that had been suspended.
"We must push right away to impose sanctions waived by Trump, stop his despicable diesel deal, provide military aid, particularly air defense—& other measures to show support necessary to bring Putin to serious peace talks," Blumenthal stressed.
Moreover, the senator will demand that Trump replace his special representatives for Ukraine and Russia.
"Trump needs new negotiators—not fawning pawns who call this brutal murderer a “humanitarian,'" the Democrat stated, referring to Steve Witkoff’s controversial remark.
Blumenthal also intends to push for Congress to establish control over Starlink and Starshield in the public interest, as these systems play an extremely important role for both US national security and that of its allies, including Ukraine.
Incidentally, the media recently reported that Democrats are preparing a $15 billion military aid package for Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that he expects greater assistance from the US following the Democrats' victory in the elections.
