The United States is redeploying its troops and equipment from Poland's Jasionka Airport, which has served as the main logistics hub for military assistance to Ukraine since 2022, according to the US European and African Command.

According to the department, this transition is part of a broader strategy to optimize US military operations, improve support for allies and partners, and increase efficiency.

The decision to relocate troops and equipment is the result of months of assessment and planning coordinated with Polish hosts and NATO allies.

It is stated that the work on providing military assistance to Ukraine through Jasionka will continue under the leadership of Poland and NATO, with the support of an optimized US military presence.

"Poland and its allies will maintain the robust protective infrastructure around this critical site," the statement said.

Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, US troops have established a temporary presence in Jasionka. This facility is not a permanent Polish military base, but has been used by the US, NATO, and partner forces to help Ukraine for three years.

All this time, the hub has been protected, including by Patriot air defense systems.

Logistics hub in Poland

The Polish border city of Rzeszów has become a logistics center and the main hub for arms supplies since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Since its inception, 5,000 shipments of aid to Ukraine from 45 countries have already been made. The facility is under military protection.

In particular, at the end of December 2024, the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces said that NASAMS air defense systems and F-35 fighters had been deployed in Rzeszów to protect the logistics center for assistance to Ukraine.

Earlier, it was reported that NATO allies had decided to deploy more air defense assets to Poland to protect the logistics hub in Rzeszów, through which military aid is delivered to Ukraine.
