US Presoident calls Xi Jinping's position on Ukraine 'fair'

US President Donald Trump believes Chinese President Xi Jinping has taken a “fair” stance on Russia’s war against Ukraine, the American leader said while speaking to reporters.
Trump was asked whether he might discuss Ukraine during a potential meeting with Xi Jinping.
The president replied that he would hold such a meeting but believed that Xi Jinping had so far been quite fair on Ukraine, adding that he had not been overly involved. He said the same applied to Russia, which had not done nearly as much as it could have, and expressed his appreciation for this, noting that both sides knew he appreciated it.
China’s position
China’s position on Russia’s war against Ukraine is highly ambiguous. Although Chinese officials, including Xi Jinping, claim that Beijing is “neutral” and wants Russia’s war against Ukraine to end, Chinese companies are supplying Russia with large quantities of dual-use goods.
Russia uses Chinese-made components to manufacture drones and missiles that it subsequently deploys in attacks on Ukraine.
Since Russia launched its full-scale invasion, Xi Jinping has met with Russian leader Vladimir Putin on numerous occasions to strengthen cooperation between the two countries. He has also criticized Western sanctions against Russia. By contrast, according to publicly available information, Xi has held just one phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
