US official explains Trump's comments on Russia's refinery problems after attacks

US Permanent Representative to the UN Mike Waltz explains President Donald Trump's remarks regarding the problems facing Russia's oil refining industry following the attacks on oil refineries.
Why Trump called the situation "unfortunately"
The US President previously stated that Russia had lost control of part of its oil refining industry due to the war against Ukraine. According to Trump, many Russian refineries were damaged and, at least temporarily, put out of operation.
Commenting on this statement, Mike Waltz explains why the US President called the situation "unfortunately."
"Well, Russia was a net exporter of diesel. And diesel is in tractors, it's in trucks, it's in obviously our airlines and shipping fleets. We are not a farm to table country. We are a farm to truck to table country. And one of the drivers for inflation around the world is diesel..."
What does diesel have to do with it?
According to Waltz, Russia was a net exporter of diesel fuel. He notes that diesel is used in agricultural machinery, trucks, aviation, and shipping.
The Ambassador also links the situation to prices, stating that diesel is one of the factors influencing inflation worldwide. Earlier, Trump called for an end to Russia's senseless and endless war against Ukraine.
US President Donald Trump stated that Ukraine must stop striking Russian infrastructure. According to him, such attacks could lead to a shortage of diesel fuel on the global market.
