US launches new wave of strikes on Iran for ninth straight night

The US Central Command stated that on the night of July 20, American forces again launched a series of strikes on Iran. This is already the ninth consecutive night of US attacks, according to a CENTCOM post on social media platform X.
"CENTCOM began conducting a new wave of strikes against Iran at 7 p.m. ET today for the ninth consecutive night," the post said.
The command explained that the new strikes will continue to degrade Iranian military capabilities that Tehran uses to attack commercial vessels and civilian sailors transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

In the first half of July, the US and Iran resumed exchanging strikes. This happened after Tehran attacked commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz multiple times. In response, the US struck Iran several times, leading to a resumption of regular hostilities between the two sides.
After the first attack on the vessel, US President Donald Trump declared that the ceasefire between the sides had ended.
On Saturday, Iran's Foreign Ministry also officially stated that it would no longer adhere to the terms of the ceasefire memorandum.
According to a command statement, the US has already lost at least three servicemen during the latest exchange of strikes.
