The United States has imposed new sanctions on Russian military entities for violating the Iran, North Korea, and Syria Nonproliferation Act (INKSNA), according to the US Department of State.
According to the US Department of State, the restrictions took effect on July 24, although they were announced only on August 4.
This time, the blacklist includes several units of the Russian Armed Forces and the Russian Ministry of Defense, including:
-
Russian Ground Forces;
-
Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense;
-
Directorate of Advanced Interservice Research and Special Projects of the Russian Ministry of Defense;
-
1061st Logistics Support Center.
In addition, the new restrictions apply to Gideon Alpha and International Invest Company LLC, as well as all of their successors, structural divisions, and subsidiaries.
The sanctions list of individuals includes:
-
Russian citizens Andrei Gusev, Andrey Kosolapov, Morozik Vladislav, Aleksandr Prikhodko, and Sergey Tsibarev;
-
Citizens of Malaysia, North Korea, Taiwan, Syria, and Iran.
The US Department of State confirmed that US government agencies and departments are now prohibited from purchasing goods, technologies, or services from those on the sanctions list, as well as from entering into any contracts with them.
In addition, they may not receive any support, purchase military products, or obtain export licenses.
The Iran, North Korea, and Syria Nonproliferation Act allows the United States to impose sanctions on foreign companies and individuals that cooperate with Iran, Syria, or North Korea in supplying goods, services, or technologies that could be used to develop weapons of mass destruction and missile technology.
Earlier, Ukraine imposed sanctions on suppliers of components for Russian ballistic missiles.
It was also reported that one specific condition is delaying the adoption of sanctions against Russia in the United States Senate.
In addition, it became known that Volodymyr Zelenskyy plans to force Russia to end the war before winter.
