US has everything it needs to conduct campaign against Iran, Ambassador Waltz says

The United States has denied reports that its military stockpiles have been depleted amid the conflict with Iran, insisting that US forces have all the resources they need to carry out the campaign effectively, according to NBC News.
What US says about its weapons stockpiles
Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz says he has personally verified the state of the US military supplies. He dismissed all reports of ammunition shortages or depleted stockpiles as false.
"I want to be crystal clear: The US military, and I've verified this every which way, has everything that it needs to conduct this campaign as effectively as it needs to be. People that are leaking this nonsense deserve to be in jail," the diplomat said.
Reasons for concerns about arsenal
Waltz acknowledged that the situation has become somewhat more challenging because of previous military operations and support provided to allies.
Among the main factors, he cited:
- The condition of military stockpiles inherited from the previous administration
- Long-term weapons deliveries to Ukraine
- Operations against the Houthis in the Red Sea.
At the same time, Ambassador Waltz stressed that the Pentagon is already changing its approach to military procurement. The US military is shifting toward new technologies, producing lower-cost munitions, and expanding the defense budget.
Escalating tensions with Iran
Tensions between Washington and Tehran have fueled intense discussion about the United States' military capabilities.
Earlier, CBS News, citing sources, reported that officials in President Donald Trump's administration had grown concerned about the rapid consumption of air defense interceptor missiles and precision-guided weapons during operations against Iran.
According to the report, the high rate of munitions use has prompted US officials to look for alternative ways to meet the country's defense needs.
At the same time, Washington is also seeking to use diplomatic channels.
In particular, US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz said the United States paused its strikes on Iran after 13 consecutive nights of military operations to create space for diplomacy. Also, Tehran was warned of the consequences if it failed to respond constructively to that move.
