Trump paused strikes on Iran to pursue diplomacy, US ambassador says

The United States has paused strikes on Iran after 13 consecutive nights of attacks. US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz explained the reason behind the halt in operations.
Mike Waltz commented on the pause in US strikes against Iran, which came after 13 straight nights of bombardment.
According to him, President Donald Trump is using the pause to give Tehran space for diplomacy.
Ambassador Waltz says President Trump is giving negotiations some room, giving them a little freedom.
Waltz did not reveal details about the nature of the talks. At the same time, fighting between Iran and the United States appeared to ease over the weekend.
However, according to Fox News, the naval blockade of Iran remains in place despite the pause in strikes.
Responding to questions about the halt in attacks, a senior Trump administration official said that the president has always made clear that he prefers diplomacy, but he has shown Iran what will happen if it does not come to the negotiating table seriously.
Earlier, tensions between the United States and Iran escalated in early July after Iranian attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, prompting Washington to launch retaliatory strikes.
On July 20, the US military began a new wave of attacks, with the bombing campaign entering its ninth consecutive night.
