Ukraine has no restrictions on strikes against Russian territory from Germany, France, Britain, and the USA, states German Chancellor Friedrich Merz during the WDR European Forum.

"There are no restrictions on the weapons supplied to Ukraine — neither from the British, nor from the French, nor from our side, and also not from the Americans," Merz said.

According to him, this means that Ukraine can defend itself, including by striking military targets on Russian territory.

"Previously, it could not do this, and until recently, except for isolated cases, it also did not. Now — it can," the German chancellor added.

Permission for long-range strikes

Earlier today, Western media reported that the administration of former US President Joe Biden decided to allow Ukraine to use the US-supplied weapons to strike targets on Russian territory.

Over the past months, Ukraine has been asking the US for such permission to carry out strikes on Russian military targets far from the Ukrainian borders.

Previously, the US side consistently took a cautious stance on this issue. However, two months before Donald Trump’s inauguration, Biden made the decision to support Ukraine’s request.

Additionally, France and Britain have allowed Ukraine to strike deep into Russian territory using their SCALP and Storm Shadow missiles. This decision followed the US approval.
