At the second part of the inauguration of US President Donald Trump, his chosen one Melania appeared in a spectacular outfit. At the Liberty Ball, the now officially first lady appeared in an evening white dress that allowed her to bare her shoulders.

The dress had black inserts along the entire length that resembled geometric patterns. Together with the 47th President of America, Melania entered the Walter E. Washington Convention Center wearing this look.

The outfit also had a small slit in the leg area, and she successfully paired it with white heels. An additional accent was created by a 1955 brooch designed by Harry Winston, which Melania wore as a choker.
Trump's evening gown was created by her longtime style advisor, French designer Hervé Pierre. This is not the first outfit he has worked on for her. For example, in 2017, Melania wore a vanilla-colored dress with bare shoulders, a high slit, and a red silk belt.

At the first part of the inauguration, which was more formal, the first lady wore a navy blue coat and skirt by New York designer Ad Lippes. She complemented the outfit with a wide-brimmed hat that covered most of her face. This choice meant a certain departure from the typical outfit worn by first ladies on inauguration day.
During the ceremony, when the president wanted to kiss his chosen one, he was unable to touch her cheek, so he gave her an air kiss, and this moment is actively discussed online.
By the way, the last first lady to wear a hat at a presidential inauguration was Hillary Clinton. In 1993, she appeared in a blue velvet hat that also covered part of her face.
