The embassy noted that drone attacks have recently taken place near the border with Ukraine, as well as in major Russian cities, including Moscow, Kazan, and St. Petersburg.
US citizens currently in Russia are advised that, if a drone is spotted, they should immediately move to a safe distance and take cover.
US citizens are also prohibited from photographing or filming drones or their debris, as well as the aftermath of attacks, since violations may result in fines or imprisonment.
"US citizens are again advised and strenuously reminded not to travel to Russia," the embassy stated.
They were also advised to follow instructions from Russian law enforcement in the event of attacks or drone sightings.
Attack on Moscow
On June 18, Ukrainian forces struck Moscow again. This was the second attack within a week.
Ukrainian drones reached the Moscow oil refinery, where a major fire broke out.
According to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), four separate fire outbreaks were recorded at the facility after the strike. The attack hit the storage tank farm, a crude oil distillation unit (CDU/VDU), and a diesel fuel hydrotreating unit.
All details of today’s strike on Moscow are available in RBC-Ukraine’s full report.
