The US presidential election will take place today, November 5. Celebrities who have a huge impact on public opinion are coming out in support of candidates such as Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. In this context, actors, musicians, and other celebrities are using their platforms to convey to voters the importance of voting and express their views on the country's future.

RBC-Ukraine takes a look at how American celebrities are shaping political discussions and what messages they are sending to their fans at this important time.

Celebrities endosring Harris

Lady Gaga

Singer Lady Gaga attended Kamala Harris' rally in Pennsylvania, where she performed God Bless America before introducing Harris' husband, Doug Emhoff.


Rihanna

Singer Rihanna supported Harris in a post on Monday, in which she noted that protecting puppies and freeing them can be done with one vote. She also joked about trying to get to the polls with (her) son's passport, using the hashtags #votecauseicant and #TanSuitSeason.


Jennifer Lopez

Singer and actress Jennifer Lopez expressed her support for Harris during the campaign in Nevada, saying that Trump humiliated every Latino in this country. This came after the comedian Tony Hinchcliffe characterized Puerto Rico, where Lopez's parents were born, as a floating island of garbage at a rally in support of Trump.


The Avengers actors

Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Don Cheadle, Danai Gurira, and Paul Bettany united to support Harris' video, and Ruffalo in another tweet urged voters to not stand aside in this situation.

Madonna

Singer Madonna shared on Instagram that she had returned home from a trip to Paris to vote for Harris.

Cardi B

Rapper Cardi B, who said in June that she would never become a Republican despite criticizing Joe Biden, is scheduled to speak at Harris' campaign rally in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Friday. The event will also feature GloRilla, The Isley Brothers, Flo Milli, MC Lyte, and DJ Gemini Gilly.

Arnold Schwarzenegger

Culture icon, actor, billionaire, and former Republican governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger expressed his support for Harris in a post on social media, where he ironically noted both political parties and said he hates politics more than ever before.

Don Omar

Musician Don Omar announced his support for Harris, saying he believes her administration will be one that elevates status, empowers, and puts the dignity of everyone first.

Taylor Swift

Pop star Taylor Swift expressed her support for Kamala in an Instagram post just minutes after the debate between Harris and Trump ended.

Among others who joined her were musicians Gracie Abrams, Mumford & Sons, Bad Bunny, Ricky Martin, Eminem, James Taylor, Stevie Nicks, Willie Nelson, Brittany Spencer, Margo Price, Cher, and hip-hop duo Insane Clown Posse, Marc Anthony, Lizzo, Usher, Olivia Rodrigo, John Legend, Kesha, Billie Eilish with her brother Finneas, Chappell Roan, Bruce Springsteen, and Neil Young, as well as Beyoncé's mother, Tina Knowles.

Beyoncé, whose song Freedom was used in Harris' campaign during the election, joined the Democratic candidate at a rally in Houston on October 25, along with former bandmate Kellyanne Conway and actress Jessica Alba.

Many actors have also expressed their support, including Will Ferrell, Billy Eichner, Octavia Spencer, Julia Roberts, Leonardo DiCaprio, Sarah Jessica Parker, Whoopi Goldberg, George Clooney, Barbra Streisand, Rosie O'Donnell, Jamie Lee Curtis, Cynthia Nixon, Mindy Kaling, Tony Goldwyn, Kerry Washington, Nick Offerman, Jane Fonda, Ben Stiller, Kathy Griffin, John Stamos, Ed Helms, Tiffany Haddish, Ike Barinholtz, Matt Damon, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Aubrey Plaza, Jennifer Aniston, Mel Brooks, Linda Carter, Levar Burton, Anthony Rapp, Misha Collins, Mark Hamill, Robert De Niro, Jennifer Lawrence, Fran Drescher, Bryan Cranston and Anne Hathaway.

Celebrities endosring Trump

Elon Musk

The CEO of SpaceX and Tesla has become one of the most influential and well-known supporters of the former US president. Recently, he joined him at a number of rallies, including an event in Pennsylvania, where he was seen jumping around with enthusiasm in a special black MAGA cap.

On social media, he regularly posts favorable memes about Trump and conspiracy theories, including artificially created images of attacks on Kamala Harris. According to the Federal Election Commission, he has also donated more than $119 million to Trump's campaign.

Kid Rock

Musician Kid Rock is an active supporter of Trump and often participates in his rallies. They even play golf together. In July, Rock performed at the Republican National Convention, performing one of his songs, and called on the crowd to fight, alluding to the July 13 assassination attempt on Trump.

After the event, Rock posted a short video lasting eight seconds on social media platform X, where he said If you're fighting with Trump, you're fighting with him.

Hulk Hogan

Former wrestler and reality TV star Hogan also spoke at the Republican Party convention, and, as in his sports career, he effectively tore his shirt off during his speech.

He mentioned the assassination attempt on Trump, saying they tried to kill the next president of the United States.

Hogan then tore off his shirt and exclaimed "Let Trump-o-mania reign, brother!". He added that he had previously avoided politics, but the events of recent years and recent events forced him to speak out.
