US congressman mocked ceasefire and called Putin war criminal

US Congressman Joe Wilson called Russian President Vladimir Putin a cynical liar and the Easter truce a fake, according to the congressman's post on the social media platform X.
The Republican representative harshly criticized Putin's statement regarding the so-called Easter ceasefire in Ukraine.
Wilson labeled the Russian leader a war criminal and accused him of cynical deception.
"War criminal Putin reminds us of his complete and utter depravity and disdain for human life by bombing playgrounds, Christian bakeries, and declaring a fake Easter ceasefire while continuing an invasion HE started and could end today," Wilson wrote.
The congressman also stated that history would remember Putin as a pitiful and weak man.
Russia's Easter ceasefire
Russian President Vladimir Putin declared a ceasefire on the front lines in observance of Easter. The truce is set to last 30 hours, from 6:00 PM on Saturday, April 19, to midnight Sunday into Monday, April 21.
The defense forces were instructed to halt offensive combat operations but were allowed to mirror responses if the Russians violated the truce.
On the front lines, there has only been a reduction in the number of skirmishes.
The EU reacted with skepticism to Putin's ceasefire and called for the war to be completely halted.
