The minerals deal will be signed as soon as possible - Ukraine and the US have a mutual understanding, according to Republican Brian Fitzpatrick and Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

The US House Representative stated that he had a one-on-one conversation with Yermak, during which they discussed the mineral deal and confirmed that it would be signed.

"We are 100% getting this train back on the tracks. This mineral deal will be signed in short order, which will lead to a strong long-term economic partnership between the United States and Ukraine, and which will ultimately and naturally lead to security assistance," stated Fitzpatrick.

He added that Europe will be required to step up and do its part, and there will be mandates for them to do just that.

Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andrii Yermak confirmed his conversation with the Republican, emphasizing the need for economic partnership between both countries.

"We discussed the path to a just peace and the mineral agreement with the US. Both our countries need economic partnership. There is mutual understanding, and we are moving toward a decision that our leaders must approve," he stated.

The mineral agreement was initially set to be signed on Friday, February 28. However, due to a dispute between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump, the signing ceremony was canceled, and the Ukrainian leader left the White House ahead of schedule.
