US and China could end war in Ukraine if they act together - Zelenskyy
The United States and China, if they set aside their differences and act together, could potentially end Russia's war against Ukraine, states President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with Bloomberg.
Zelenskyy believes that the United States and China can end the war in Ukraine. According to him, such a development is possible if Washington and Beijing set aside their differences and act together.
The President also noted that China could play a "tremendous role" in resolving the conflict, given Russia's significant dependence on its export market.
At the same time, Zelenskyy declined to evaluate President Joe Biden's unsuccessful performance in the presidential debates against Donald Trump, which, as the Ukrainian president mentioned, he observed. Instead, he assessed each candidate's position on Ukraine.
Furthermore, Zelenskyy, as a former television personality, acknowledged that media coverage can influence public perception of a leader.
"Beyond optics, the US leader will convince if he shows strong, decisive steps," he said.
Peace plan of China
The Peace Plan of China regarding Ukraine was introduced in February 2023. Its initial version consisted of 12 points aimed at facilitating a peaceful resolution to the war in Ukraine.
Moreover, China declined to participate in the Peace Summit held in June in Switzerland. Meanwhile, Beijing began promoting its peace plan.
Recently, the Office of the President of Ukraine reported that China has revised its peace plan regarding Ukraine. Now, it consists of six points instead of twelve, and the restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty is no longer its primary point.
