Oman has criticized US involvement in the war against Iran, stating that Washington has been drawn into a conflict that does not serve its national interests and has no winning scenario, according to Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi.
Minister says the biggest miscalculation of the American administration was that it allowed itself to be drawn into this war.
The diplomat emphasizes that this is not America’s war, and there is no plausible scenario in which both Israel and America will get what they want from it.
He adds that this is an uncomfortable truth that must be stated because it highlights how much America has lost control over its own foreign policy, but it needs to be said.
Badr Albusaidi believes that Israel’s strategic goals, particularly regime change in Tehran, do not align with US interests.
In his view, implementing such a scenario would require a large-scale and protracted military campaign involving US ground forces, which would inevitably lead to a new round of endless wars.
To resolve the crisis, he calls on the US and Iran to return to negotiations. The diplomat proposed combining them with the development of a broader regional agreement on non-aggression and control over nuclear technologies.
Since February 28, Israel and the US have been conducting a joint military operation against Iran called Epic Fury.
US President Donald Trump attributed the launch to the failure of negotiations on the nuclear deal. At the same time, media reports suggested that Israel and Saudi Arabia may have pushed him toward this decision.
Subsequently, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt outlined the main objectives of the US operation in Iran.
At the same time, Trump stated that he does not rule out various scenarios for waging war, including the involvement of US ground forces.
