The Unmanned Systems Forces (SBS) on Monday, January 5, struck the radar system of a Russian S-300V surface-to-air missile system in the Donetsk region, according to the commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert "Madyar" Brovdi, on Telegram.
He stated that the radar system of the Russian S-300V surface-to-air missile system was hit by servicemen from the 412th Nemesis Brigade.
A mid-strike class munition was used for the strike. Its warhead weighs tens of kilograms, and in some cases, over 100 kilograms.
The S-300V is a Soviet surface-to-air missile system designed to defend critical military facilities and troop formations; it is a self-propelled system for both anti-missile and anti-aircraft defense.
"Madyar" noted that the destroyed 9S32 radar system is a key component of the S-300V complex, specifically the radar and guidance station capable of directing 12 guided missiles simultaneously at six different targets.
"In short, Soviet-made, but expensive and powerful hardware," he summarized.
Destruction of Russian military equipment
On January 1, 2026, the Unmanned Systems Forces destroyed two expensive Russian surface-to-air missile systems. These were the tactical TОР SAM and the 50N6E radar station of the S-350 Vityaz complex.
In addition, on the night of December 30–31, drones of the Unmanned Systems Forces struck a number of Russian military and infrastructure targets in the temporarily occupied Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia regions, and Crimea.
Recently, the Unmanned Systems Forces also hit several Russian military facilities in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
On the night of December 30, the Unmanned Systems Forces struck enemy facilities related to the storage, maintenance, and launch preparation of attack drones at Donetsk Airport.
In December, the Unmanned Systems Forces eliminated almost one and a half times more enemy personnel than in November. Last month, the average daily figure was 415 soldiers.
