Unknown drones attacked Russia's Leningrad region overnight, striking an oil refinery in Kirishi, where a fire broke out. The region's governor, Alexander Drozdenko, confirmed the attack, according to OSINT channels.
"The NASA Firms monitoring system is recording fires at the Kirishinefteorgsintez oil refinery in the Leningrad region following overnight attacks," the monitoring channel reported.
The region's governor, Alexander Drozdenko, confirmed the attack on an industrial zone in Kirishi, as well as the fire. Employees of Russia's Ministry of Emergency Situations are working at the site.
Kirishinefteorgsintez is one of the largest oil refineries in Russia. It is engaged in oil processing and the production of fuel (gasoline, diesel, fuel oil).
The enterprise is of strategic importance for Russia's energy sector and is often mentioned in the news, particularly in the context of drone attacks and the impact of the war on the oil refining industry.

As is known, attacks on oil refineries and export terminals directly reduce the volumes that Russia can sell on foreign markets. Accordingly, budget revenues that finance the war decrease.
For example, the Tuapse oil refinery was attacked several times recently — the Defense Forces of Ukraine confirmed the strikes. As a result of fires at the refinery, the Russian budget suffered losses, while, in parallel, prolonged drone attacks on the energy sector are driving the aggressor's economy into a dead end.
