Bayern's breakthrough talent: Ukrainian youngster earning Modrić-level praise

Ukrainian midfielder Bohdan Olychenko of Bayern Munich U-19 scored his first goal in the UEFA Youth League and was involved in two other goal-scoring actions.

Spectacular performance against Sporting
In the 6th round of the Champions League path against Portuguese side Sporting, Olychenko started for Bayern for the fourth time and was one of the standout players of the match.
He scored his first goal in the tournament in the first minute of the second half with a well-timed follow-up. Additionally, he won the penalty from which Bayern opened the scoring.
The 18-year-old midfielder played the full 90 minutes on the pitch, marking his second consecutive full match in the European competition.
The game ended in a 3-3 draw.
This season, Olychenko has already recorded 4 goals and 4 assists for Bayern U-19, with three other goals scored in the German U-19 league.

Who is Bohdan Olychenko
The 18-year-old midfielder hails from Lutsk. He began playing football at the local football school Adrenalin before moving to the academy of Shakhtar Donetsk. In March 2022, he received an invitation from scouts of the German powerhouse Bayern Munich. He currently has a contract with Bayern that runs until summer 2027.
At the international level, Olychenko has represented Ukraine U-17, helping the team qualify for Euro 2024 and starting in group stage matches.
German media often compare Olychenko to Luka Modrić due to his hairstyle and playing style in midfield.
Within Bayern's system, the Ukrainian is considered one of the most technically gifted players of his age. His name is already being discussed in the context of a potential move to the U-23 squad.
