America's largest broadcaster PBS has acquired a film by Anton Ptushkin that delves into the war and the plight of animals in Ukraine, a project he's been diligently working on, according to a joint announcement by Anton and the official Instagram page of his film.

"The international version of 'War and Pets' movie will be shown in the United States as part of the popular PBS documentary project Nature," the post says.

PBS stands out as one of America's premier providers, notably airing the Oscar-winning documentary "20 Days in Mariupol" as part of its Frontline series this year.

"This is a trailer for a documentary I've been filming for the last 1.5 years, which will be released on April 4. Еhis marks my first project that won't be available on YouTube. It's unlike anything I've done before – devoid of picturesque landscapes or drone shots (due to obvious reasons)," shares Anton.

The film aims to offer a unique perspective on the war in Ukraine, focusing on the relationships between people and animals.

"Most films currently in theaters boast a powerful tagline, a succinct phrase encapsulating the essence of the movie. While our poster lacks such a tagline, we found a quote: 'Sometimes, when we think we're saving animals, it's actually the animals who are saving us' – uttered by one of our main characters," Ptushkin adds.

Side note: Anton traveled extensively throughout various regions of Ukraine to capture poignant scenes and uncover the stories of animals abandoned by humans.
