Units of the 82nd Separate Air Assault Bukovyna Brigade of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have liberated the settlement of Sukhetske in the Pokrovsk district of the Donetsk region, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“During assault operations, our soldiers engaged in fierce combat with the enemy numbering over 60 personnel,” the General Staff’s statement reads.

Most of the Russians suffered irreparable losses, while some were taken prisoner.

Sukhetske is located 12 kilometers from Pokrovsk.

Recently, a Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group managed to infiltrate the center of Pokrovsk and kill several civilians. Ukrainian troops detected the Russians and eliminated them inside the railway station building.

In September, enemy infantry losses in the Pokrovsk direction increased by almost 30%. In the defense zone of the 7th Corps of the Air Assault Forces, Russian infantry losses grew by nearly 30%. Last month, Ukrainian troops in this direction neutralized 1,851 troops.

Earlier, the General Staff stated that a fierce defensive operation continues in the Pokrovsk direction. Russian forces are suffering colossal losses while trying to break through to the city.

According to the General Staff, in the Pokrovsk district of the Donetsk region, Ukraine’s Defense Forces are conducting both stabilization and counter-sabotage measures, including within Pokrovsk itself and its surroundings, as well as active defense operations.
