In recent days, a Russian sabotage and reconnaissance team managed to enter the center of Pokrovsk and killed several civilians. Ukrainian forces, however, located the intruders and eliminated them inside the railway station building, according to the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces.

"In recent days, an enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group managed to infiltrate the center of Pokrovsk. Unfortunately, during their advance, the Russians violated international humanitarian law and killed several civilians in the city, in the area of the railway station," the statement said.

According to the command, a joint strike-and-search unit of the Defense Forces located and neutralized enemy forces hiding in one of the railway station buildings.

Ukrainian forces have since reinforced the defense of Pokrovsk with additional troops and equipment. Special units continue to screen potential infiltration points and are patrolling the city intensively.

Over the past two days, Ukrainian forces have eliminated a total of 14 Russian soldiers who managed to enter Pokrovsk.

Frontline situation

According to the morning briefing from the General Staff, the Pokrovsk direction remains the hottest section of the front. Over the past day, Ukrainian forces repelled 58 enemy assaults across nearly 20 settlements.

It was also reported that despite Russia's broad efforts to capture the entire Donetsk region by the end of this year, the latest data indicates that the deadline for Russian occupation forces has been pushed back to March 2026.

Earlier, The Economist published a report stating that during the spring 2025 offensive, Russia lost at least 100,000 soldiers in battles against Ukraine, while the enemy captured only 0.4% of Ukrainian territory.
