Ukrainian top general shares details about frontline situation post Kupiansk visit
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, after visiting the positions of servicemen near the city of Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region, discussed the situation on this particular frontline, according to his Telegram channel.
"Over several days, we worked within the responsibility zone of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group. The front line remains active. The occupiers are attempting to advance on all fronts," the general states.
However, the head commander notes that despite the pressure from the enemy, Ukrainian defenders repel attacks and inflict significant losses on the enemy in manpower and equipment.
Zaluzhnyi also discussed conducting "productive work" with brigade commanders operating in the Kupiansk direction.
"We've defined the sequence of our actions considering the constantly changing operational situation and capabilities, and made decisions to meet the urgent needs of the units," the statement reads.
The general emphasizes that the Ukrainian military holds their defense steadfastly under extremely challenging conditions and expressed gratitude to each brigade and everyone fighting for Ukraine.

Recently, The Telegraph, citing a source close to the Ukrainian military, reported that the Russians might allegedly begin a ground offensive in the Kharkiv region on January 15 after intensified shelling.
Meanwhile, the spokesman for the Ukrainian Ground Forces Command, Colonel Volodymyr Fitio, stated that there had been no observed changes in the composition of enemy forces in the Kharkiv region or on the territory of Russia bordering the region.
Additionally, the commander of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group, Lieutenant General Oleksandr Syrskii, reported that Russian occupiers continued active offensive actions in the Kupiansk forest, attempting to break through the defense of Ukrainian forces and advance toward Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region.
