Ukrainian swimmer Trusov sets world record, wins gold at Paralympics

Ukrainian athlete Andrii Trusov won a gold medal at the Paralympics in the 50-meter freestyle (S7 class). He set a world record.
Andrii Trusov qualified for the 50-meter freestyle final with a time of 27.31 seconds, setting a Paralympic record.
In the final, the Ukrainian athlete improved his performance, finishing in 26.38 seconds, which set a new world record.
Colombian swimmer Carlos Daniel Serrano Zarate, who took second place, finished in 27.60 seconds.
Ukraine’s results at the Paralympics
Trusov's gold medal is Ukraine's 11th at the Paralympics. Earlier in the competition, he also earned three silver medals.
This was Ukraine's second gold medal of the day. The first was won by swimmer Yaroslav Denysenko in the 100-meter freestyle (S12 class).
