Soldiers of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have directed HIMARS fire at the Russian Buk anti-aircraft missile system in the Donetsk region, according to the Special Operations Forces's statements on Telegram.

Reportedly, operators of the 3rd separate regiment of the Special Operations Forces during reconnaissance operations in the Donetsk direction spotted a Buk-M2 anti-aircraft missile system and a 9C36 detection and targeting station that is part of the complex.

The Buk anti-aircraft system is designed, in particular, to engage aircraft, tactical ballistic and airborne missiles, and surface and ground targets.

The SOF operators directed the fire of a missile unit of the Ukrainian Defense Foces at the Russian Buk and radar. The enemy's equipment was destroyed as a result of professional adjustments and precise fire.

Russia's losses in the war against Ukraine

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia's losses in the war against Ukraine as of Monday morning, January 1, amounted to 780 occupants. The total number of Russian army losses since the beginning of the invasion is approximately 360,010. In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 6 tanks, 17 armored personnel carriers, and 18 enemy artillery systems.
