On World Poetry Day, March 21, Ukrainian military poets made a powerful gesture of gratitude to the United Kingdom for its unwavering support of Ukraine in its fight against Russia. Five talented artists, who are currently defending the country on the front line or have recently worn military uniforms, recited William Ernest Henley's iconic poem "Invictus" together, reports UNITED24.

Famous Ukrainian poets and soldiers joined the symbolic video: Pavlo Vyshebaba, Mykola Antoshchak, Oleksii Karkachov, Artur Dron, as well as writer and former soldier Pavlo Matiusha.

Their voices, full of strength and faith, sounded like sincere gratitude to the British people and government for their comprehensive assistance to Ukraine in this difficult time.

The poem "Invictus", written in 1875, is a symbol of resilience, courage, and unbreakable will to win, even in the face of the most difficult challenges. Its lines are more relevant than ever for the Ukrainian people, who are heroically resisting the aggressor.

By choosing this particular poem for their appeal, the Ukrainian military poets emphasized not only their gratitude to Britain but also reminded the world that the struggle for freedom and independence of our country continues.

This touching project is yet another testament to the strong ties between Ukraine and the UK, based on shared values of freedom and democracy.
