Soldiers of a unit of the Special Operations Forces discovered the latest Russian 152-mm self-propelled artillery system 2S43 Malva. Russia began producing it in 2023, according to the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russian self-propelled artillery system was detected during aerial reconnaissance of one of the frontline areas. The Special Operations Forces operators transmitted the coordinates of the target to the artillery of a friendly unit and adjusted their fire.

Russian self-propelled artillery system was destroyed as a result of an accurate strike.

The detonation of the ammunition also damaged the ATV used to service the Malva.

Malva self-propelled artillery system

The 2S43 Malva is a modern Russian 152 mm self-propelled artillery system that features a wheeled chassis instead of the traditional tracked one. It is designed to provide high mobility and rapid deployment in combat conditions, which allows it to effectively support troops over long distances.

The main feature of the Malva is its artillery system, which uses the proven 2A64 gun from the Msta-S self-propelled gun system mounted on the chassis of the BAZ-6010-027 truck with an 8×8 wheel configuration.

The absence of an armored turret reduces the weight of the system, which improves its transportability and allows it to be transported by air. However, this design makes the vehicle more vulnerable to enemy fire.

Malva is designed to engage enemy manpower, fortifications and equipment, providing a range of up to 24-29 km with conventional shells and more when using active-reactive munitions. Despite its mobility, this vehicle has a limited level of protection and is inferior to its tracked counterparts in terms of cross-country ability on difficult terrain.

The Special Operations Forces soldiers cleared an industrial facility behind Russian lines, killing 23 Russian occupants.

In addition, servicemen of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Donetsk region eliminated a Russian platoon during a drone attack on Russian positions at an industrial complex.
