Ukrainian defenders have eliminated Russian saboteurs who managed to infiltrate the village of Yampil in the Donetsk region, stated Hryhorii Shapoval, the spokesperson of the East group of forces.

Shapoval was asked to describe the situation in the Yampil area as of the evening of October 6.

"The situation there has stabilized. The work to eliminate the remaining occupiers has been completed," the spokesperson emphasized.

He noted that the Russian forces are still attempting to apply pressure using various methods, but Ukrainian defenders are giving a strong response.

Rumors about Yampil

On September 28, Russian forces claimed they were advancing in the village of Yampil in the Donetsk region.

The 11th Army Corps stressed that such rumors were another attempt by Russia to spread panic and misinform the population.

The military assured that the village remains under Ukrainian control and that all saboteurs are eliminated in time.

By October 4, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that the situation in the village area had stabilized, and Ukrainian defenders were eliminating the remaining saboteurs inside the settlement.
