Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko met with her Slovak counterpart, Robert Fico. She also announced upcoming negotiations between the Ukrainian and Slovak sides, which will take place in Slovakia, according to her Telegram.

During the meeting in Uzhhorod, the parties discussed the progress of key infrastructure and energy projects, including the opening of the narrow-gauge railway section between Uzhhorod and Chop.

“This is the first European-gauge railway built in Ukraine, which opens opportunities for developing passenger connections with several European capitals,” Svyrydenko noted.

She also said that it was agreed to work on the substantive content of the next round of joint consultations between the governments of Ukraine and Slovakia, which will take place soon in Slovakia.

“I thanked the Slovak government for its unwavering support of Ukraine’s Euro-integration aspirations and the need for the fastest possible opening of negotiation clusters with the EU simultaneously for Ukraine and Moldova,” she emphasized.

Zelenskyy-Fico meeting

At the same time, after he meets with Russian President Vladimir Putin this week, Fico hinted that he has a message and conclusions for Zelenskyy.
