Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico intends to deliver a message to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, which he prepared after his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, stated Fico in his post.

According to Fico, in addition to the official meeting with Putin in China, he also had an almost one-hour one-on-one discussion, during which the main topic was the war in Ukraine.

"President Putin informed me about the progress of negotiations with US President Donald Trump in Alaska and the prospects for ending this military conflict. From this important discussion, I drew several conclusions and messages, which I intend to deliver to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday," the Prime Minister added.

He also noted that before leaving, he held separate talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

Zelenskyy and Fico meeting

On September 1, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said he plans to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday, September 5.

During today’s talks with Putin, Fico stated that the meeting with Zelenskyy will take place in Uzhhorod.

The meeting between Zelenskyy and Fico will occur after several strikes by Ukrainian defenders on the Druzhba oil pipeline, which Slovakia uses to receive Russian oil.
