Ukrainian Presidential Office denies Western fatigue over Ukraine support

Ukrainian Presidential Office denies Western fatigue over Ukraine support Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine (Vitalii Nosach, RBC-Ukraine)

Western countries have not grown tired of supporting Ukraine in the war with Russia. On the contrary, in the West they are even more aware of the threat, reports Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

Yermak was asked whether there is a risk of "Ukraine fatigue" in the West.

"No, we clearly heard at the NATO summit that Ukraine's security equals Europe's security," he responded.

The head of the Presidential Office clarified that Ukraine is cooperating with the West. There are also new investments in the Ukrainian defense industry and decisions on defense cooperation. Kyiv continues its constructive work with Washington.

"When the narrative of fatigue is raised — the Russians really like it, because it implies a regional conflict. But Russia's war against Ukraine is a confrontation between autocracies and the West. And we clearly know and heard from the US leader that it's possible Russia might target something in Europe. There is no fatigue, and there is no need to talk about it. Everyone increasingly understands the threat, and no one is thinking about fatigue," Yermak added.

Putin's hopes

Back in 2024, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) wrote that Russian President Vladimir Putin continues to count on the West abandoning Ukraine.

He believes that by doing so, he will be able to achieve victory and fulfill his military objectives.
