President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed condolences over the death of the Pope. According to him, Francis always prayed for the peace of Ukraine and Ukrainians.

"Millions of people around the world are mourning the tragic news of Pope Francis’s passing. His life was devoted to God, to people, and to the Church," he wrote.

According to the President of Ukraine, he knew how to give hope, alleviate suffering through prayer, and help unity and prayed for the peace of Ukraine and Ukrainians.

"We grieve together with Catholics and all Christians who looked to Pope Francis for spiritual support. Eternal memory!" he said.

Pope's death

Pope Francis died on April 21. He passed away at the age of 88. In addition to Zelenskyy, the White House has already reacted to Francis' death, and condolences have been expressed by King Charles, the Presidents of France and Poland, the German Chancellor, the Italian Prime Minister, and others.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the Pope in the Vatican last October. He presented the pontiff with a painting of the Bucha massacre.
