Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Yoshimasa Hayashi met in Kyiv. The main topic of their negotiations was business, according to Shmyhal's statement on Telegram.

The head of the Ukrainian government thanked Japan for its support, financial and humanitarian assistance, and sanctions against Russia. Shmyhal noted that Ukraine had already received $2.1 billion in macro-financial assistance from Japan.

Officials discussed cooperation for housing reconstruction, food security guarantees, support for small and medium-sized businesses, and demining.

"We hope that Japanese companies will become residents of Diia.City - a space that provides unique legal and tax benefits," added the Prime Minister.

The Foreign Minister, in turn, emphasized that Japan would continue to support Ukraine. Tokyo pledged to provide 24 demining cranes for humanitarian purposes, and Japanese entrepreneurs presented cooperation projects, including in the fields of communication, infrastructure, and healthcare.
