The Ukrainian passport has risen by three positions in the global passport ranking, reaching 29th place. The total number of countries with which Ukraine has established a visa-free regime has increased to 147, according to the international firm Henley & Partners.

Experts from Henley & Partners analyzed data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and other open sources. According to the updated ranking, holders of a Ukrainian passport can visit 147 countries without a visa.

Ranking leaders:

  • 1st place – Singapore: 193 visa-free countries
  • 2nd place – Japan and South Korea: 190 countries each
  • 3rd place – Finland, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, and Spain: 189 countries each

Ukraine shares the 29th position with Grenada, while Dominica and Saint Lucia are close in the ranking.

Afghanistan is at the bottom of the ranking, taking 99th place. The country's passport allows visa-free access to only 25 countries, making it the weakest in the world.

In January 2024, Ukraine was ranked 32nd and had visa-free access to 148 countries. Despite a slight decrease in the number of visa-free destinations, the overall position in the ranking has improved.

The Henley Passport Index is updated monthly and has been tracking "passport strength" since 2006.
