Ukrainian paratroopers capture Egyptian occupier in Kurakhove sector
Ukrainian paratroopers have captured an Egyptian national fighting on the side of the Russians, in the Kurakhove direction, according to Orest Drymalovskyi, a spokesperson for the 79th Separate Air Assault Brigade.
Drymalovskyi addressed reports that Russian soldiers had allegedly been ordered to blow themselves up with grenades to avoid being captured by Ukrainian forces. He noted that soldiers of the 79th Brigade had observed Russian assault troops losing motivation to continue their offensive, resorting to self-detonation with grenades or committing suicide with automatic rifles.
He also revealed that a recently captured prisoner was an Egyptian man. The man had come to Russia to pursue higher education in IT, but after receiving a Russian passport, he was conscripted into the army within a month.
"An interesting character, speaks four languages, a polyglot. He will survive," Drymalovskyi commented.
Another captured soldier was described as a typical member of the Russian army — a former prisoner who went to war against Ukraine for 200,000 rubles.
Russian army losses
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Russia has already lost 675,000 soldiers in its war against Ukraine. Over the past day alone, Ukrainian forces reportedly eliminated more than 1,500 Russian soldiers.
Additionally, Russians are allegedly seeking to involve North Korean soldiers in the war against Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that North Korea is preparing a contingent. North Korea and Russia are reportedly planning to deploy 10,000 soldiers from various branches of the military, not just infantry.
