Increasing financial assistance to Ukraine in the future will help avoid a direct confrontation between NATO and Russia, which could compel American forces to intervene, says the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba.

"Whatever the price of supporting Ukraine is now, the price of fixing the mess in the world if Ukraine loses will be much, much higher," stated the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

Kuleba also emphasized that Ukraine will continue the fight against the aggressor country even with insufficient military assistance from allies.

"Even if we run out of weapons, we will fight with shovels. Because what is at stake here for Ukraine is the existence of this nation," added the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

U.S. aid allocation to Ukraine

Several months ago, the President of the United States Joe Biden requested over $100 billion from Congress for national security needs. Within the substantial financial package, approximately $60 billion was earmarked for assistance to Ukraine.

However, Republican members of the U.S. Congress refused to support this initiative, demanding that the package include stricter measures regarding border security with Mexico.

Later, on January 12, it was revealed that U.S. aid to Ukraine has been suspended until Congress approves new funding.
