Capture of North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region
For the first time, Ukrainian Defense Forces captured two North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region. One of them was caught on January 9.
According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, this mission was a challenging one because Russia is doing everything possible to conceal the participation of North Korean troops in the fight against Ukrainian forces.
The Security Service of Ukraine shared details about the North Korean soldiers captured by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region. One was captured by SSO fighters, while the other was taken prisoner by Ukrainian paratroopers.
One of the prisoners carried a Russian military ID under a different name, while the other had no documents at all. The prisoners do not speak Ukrainian, English, or Russian and are currently in Kyiv.
