Ukrainian defenders conducted a series of successful operations on the left bank of the Kherson region. One of the main tasks is to push Russian occupiers away from the right bank of the Dnipro River to protect civilians from constant enemy shelling, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"The Ukrainian defense forces carried out a series of successful actions on the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson direction," said the military command.

The General Staff specified that the following actions are being carried out:

  • sabotage,
  • raid,
  • reconnaissance activities

"The logistic supply routes of enemy ammunition and food are being identified. Intelligence is conducted on the location of personnel and equipment of Russian occupation forces, artillery positions, etc., with the aim of their further destruction by appropriate means of impact," the statement said.

Heavy fighting continues in this direction.

"One of the main goals is to push the enemy as far as possible from the right bank to protect the civilian population from constant Russian shelling. The further the Russian artillery is from Kherson, the better," notes the General Staff.

Occupiers are forced to redeploy forces

During the operations, the Ukrainian forces inflict significant losses on Russian aggressors in terms of personnel and equipment.

"Despite a sufficiently severe line of fortifications and strong resistance from the enemy, several successful actions have been carried out. The enemy is trying to push our soldiers out of positions, leading to significant losses for Russians. In particular, invaders make from 4 to 10 such attempts almost every day," said the military command.

As a result of significant losses, the enemy is forced to redeploy units from other directions, added the General Staff.

Enemy losses

The General Staff revealed that since the beginning of these operations, the total losses of the enemy forces include:

  • Personnel: 1,216 killed and 2,217 wounded
  • 24 tanks
  • 89 artillery systems and mortars
  • 135 units of various types of vehicles
  • 48 combat armored vehicles
  • 9 MLRS
  • 14 amphibious vehicles
  • 15 units of special equipment
  • 4 command points
  • 29 ammunition depots
  • 135 FPV drones and 5 tactical-level UAVs

Armed Forces of Ukraine gaining a foothold on the left bank of the Kherson region

Earlier today, on November 17, the Marine Corps confirmed that defenders carried out a series of successful actions on the left bank of the Dnipro in the Kherson region, allowing them to secure several bridgeheads.

Later, a representative of the Defense Intelligence, Yevhen Yerin said that in response, Russian occupiers may attempt certain redeployments.

Earlier this week, pro-Kremlin media, citing the Russian Ministry of Defense, wrote about the alleged decision to redeploy occupation forces to the left bank of the Kherson region. Shoigu quickly issued a denial, calling such information a provocation. Military experts suggest that someone from the Russian Ministry of Defense mistakenly sent out a pre-prepared "just in case" release to the media.
