The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has shared footage of maritime drones bearing the name "Sea Baby," which were used in the attacks on the Crimean Bridge in July and more recently on the hostile ship "Olenegorsky Gornyak," according to sources within the SSU.

The video showcases the training of maritime drones developed by the SSU. The name "Sea Baby" can also be seen on the drones, representing their moniker.

SSU's maritime drones: What's known about them?

Earlier, in a CNN commentary, the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Maliuk, revealed details of the agency's high-profile special operations.

He disclosed that the maritime drones are a unique development by the SSU and were successfully used to attack the Crimean Bridge in July 2023, the Russian landing ship "Olenegorsky Gornyak" and the tanker "SIG."

He added that at the initiative of the personnel, the drones were named "Sea Baby." These drones are equipped with a warhead weighing 850 kg.

According to the head of the SSU, two separate surface drones were used to strike the landing ship "Olenegorsky Gornyak" and the tanker "SIG," each carrying a 450 kg warhead.

Interestingly, the production of these drones takes place in one of the underground facilities within Ukraine's territory. Currently, the SSU is engaged in various intriguing operations, particularly within the waters of the Black Sea.

Thus, the head of the SSU promised adversaries a plethora of surprises.

Attack on the Crimean Bridge and Russian ships

On July 17, another blast occurred on the Crimean Bridge. The Security Service of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Navy successfully attacked the bridge of the occupiers using maritime drones.

They destroyed two spans of the Crimean Bridge. The damage was so extensive that according to estimates by the occupier "authorities," the restoration process will last until at least the end of the year.

Moreover, due to the coordinated efforts of the SBU and the Ukrainian Navy, the Russian landing ship "Olenegorsky Gornyak" was incapacitated on August 4 in the port of Novorossiysk. Additionally, near the Kerch Strait the following day, a maritime drone struck the oil tanker "SIG."
