Ukrainian leader urges US to reject Russia's 'but' on Ukraine ceasefire

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during a briefing, stated that the United States of America should not agree to Russia's "but" when discussing a ceasefire in Ukraine.
Zelenskyy emphasized that the most important thing for the US is not to accept Russia's "but" regarding the ceasefire. He noted that this should be an opportunity for all parties to demonstrate their genuine desire to end the war or, on the contrary, continue it.
"This is not eternity; this is silence for 30 days — a chance for all parties to show their real desire to end the war or, on the contrary, to continue it," the president stressed.
Ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine
Recently, Ukraine accepted the US proposal for a 30-day ceasefire with Russia. On March 13, American officials began discussions on this matter with the Russian side. However, Moscow has not yet provided a final response.
At the same time, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin expressed concern over "nuances," particularly regarding Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region and the supply of Western weapons to Ukraine.
It is worth noting that the US has already threatened to impose the toughest sanctions against Russia if it refuses to stop the war.
Moreover, Zelenskyy explained yesterday what the ceasefire with Russia depends on.
