Ukrainian intelligence on volunteer raid in Russia: Not to stop anytime soon
Volunteer units from the Freedom of Russia Legion, the Russian Volunteer Corps, and the Siberia Battalion, which have been conducting an operation in the Russian regions bordering Ukraine for several days, plan to continue it, states the Chief of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov.
Speaking about the raid of Russian volunteers on the territory of the aggressor country, he noted that "this is a national issue."
"We may like some more, others less. But either way, they are Russians," the head of the Ukrainian military intelligence said about the rebel units.
According to him, as far as "we know, they are not going to stop anytime soon."
"They will do what they have the strength to do. And as we can see, they have enough strength to at least achieve limited success. We will see what happens next in time," Budanov said.
Volunteer raid in Russia
On March 12, it became known that volunteers of the Freedom of Russia Legion, RVC, and Siberian Battalion, who are fighting on the side of Ukraine, had broken through the Russian border. These volunteer battalions entered Kursk and Belgorod regions from the territory of Ukraine. Later, the soldiers took control of the village of Tetkino in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.
On March 15, representatives of the volunteers issued an urgent message announcing a massive attack on military targets in Belgorod and urged locals to immediately take cover and not go outside until the attack was over.
Earlier today, on March 16, members of the FRL and the Siberia battalion warned of their intention to launch a massive attack on military targets in Belgorod and again asked locals to take cover.
Later on Saturday, members of the Freedom of Russia Legion once again called on residents of Belgorod and Kursk regions to evacuate, and in this regard announced the organization of a third humanitarian corridor. The volunteers will continue massive attacks on the Russian Armed Forces in the regions.
