The Cyber Corps of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine launched an attack on Russia's MTS Bank. Russians reported problems with service payments and more, according to the sources in the Ukrainian intelligence.

As they reported, since yesterday, MTS Bank has been experiencing a major disruption. A large-scale DDoS attack was organized against the bank, leading to the blocking of its services, malfunctions in its online applications, and disruptions in payment systems.

Users in Russia are reporting that they are unable to use the bank's mobile app, make transfers, withdraw cash from accounts/cards, deposit accounts, or pay for services.

Additionally, MTS Bank's MTS-Business online banking is also down, affecting the business market and service provision/payments. There are also isolated cases of debiting funds from the accounts of the bank's clients.

The bank's support team denies any external attack and is deleting comments from dissatisfied users.

Cyberattacks by the intelligence

Earlier in November, sources told RBC-Ukraine that specialists of Ukrainian intelligence attacked Russian banks in Crimea, causing them to halt their operations.

In September, Rosselkhozbank and Moscow Credit Bank were also targeted in cyberattacks, which disrupted the functionality of their websites.
