Ukrainian intelligence officers struck the drone control headquarters of the Russian Rubicon unit in occupied Avdiivka, Donetsk region. Officers and UAV operators were killed, according to the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.

"In a half-ruined building in occupied Avdiivka, Donetsk region, fighters from the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (HUR) discovered the headquarters of the Russian invaders from the so-called Rubicon center," the report says.

According to intelligence reports, Rubicon specializes in the use of unmanned systems, in particular strike drones, and is one of the combat-ready structures of the Russian army, on which Russia spends significant resources.

Having obtained the coordinates of Russia's location, HUR intelligence officers delivered a precision strike with an FP-2 unmanned aerial vehicle equipped with a warhead weighing over 105 kg.

As a result of the Russian strike, Russian Rubicon officers and drone operators who were at the headquarters were eliminated.

The Rubicon unit was only formed in August 2024, but is already considered one of the most effective technological formations of the Russian army.

It consists of carefully selected personnel, has a well-established command structure, and is provided with virtually unlimited funding. Russia is currently actively expanding this unit from several hundred to several thousand fighters, planning to deploy it along the entire front line.

The missile forces and artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also successfully struck the drone control center of the elite Russian Rubicon unit in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region.
