Ukrainian Foreign Minister reminds position 'Nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine' ahead of G20 summit
Ukraine maintains a position focused on achieving a just peace. Kyiv will not accept any initiative developed without its involvement, according to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
Ahead of the G20 summit in Brazil, Sybiha reiterated Ukraine’s firm position.
“We expect that any forum, any meeting, will work towards a just peace for Ukraine, based on the principle ‘nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine.’ We will never accept any initiative developed without Ukraine's involvement,” said the Foreign Minister.
He emphasized that Ukraine will not agree to any compromises on its territorial integrity and sovereignty.
He said that Ukraine considers the mere absence of war or a frozen conflict to be a manipulation of the concept of peace. Achieving a just and comprehensive peace for Ukraine is essential.
Notably, the UK Ambassador to Ukraine, Martin Harris, also stressed that peace for Ukraine cannot be discussed without Ukraine’s participation.
