In Maryino, located in the Kursk region, a North Korean general was wounded in an attack on a sanatorium. Several other North Korean officers were killed, according to Financial Times.

As a source for the agency reports, the strike on Maryino was part of a series of attacks aimed at North Koreans in the Kursk region over the past week. The source mentioned that Ukrainian forces were looking for the locations of the North Korean units, which had been dispersed by the Russians.

Financial Times reports that the identity of the wounded North Korean general has not been revealed. However, it was previously known that North Korea had sent Colonel General Kim Yong Bok to control the special forces units, known as the Storm Corps.

It is impossible to confirm that it was he who was wounded in Maryino.

North Korea's involvement in the war against Ukraine

Last month, it was reported that North Korea sent its military to Russia to assist Russian forces in the war against Ukraine.

Recently, President Zelenskyy announced that the number of North Korean soldiers in Russia had reached 11,000, with the figure potentially growing to 100,000.

On November 20, Bloomberg reported that Ukrainian forces had launched Storm Shadow missiles at Russia for the first time, with the strike hitting the village of Maryino in the Kursk region.
